Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) can be used to correct a multitude of refractive issues including myopia (short sight), hyperopia (long sight), astigmatism (imperfection in the curvature of the eye) and presbyopia (age related loss of near vision).

A RLE, also known as a Clear Lens Exchange (CLE) or lens replacement surgery, is an almost identical procedure to cataract surgery using an intraocular lens (IOL), although no cataract is present. It replaces the natural lens of the eye with an artificial lens to correct vision issues.

RLE is a great alternative to laser eye surgery for those over 45 as it can offer a more permanent near vision result as well as great distance vision.  By replacing the natural lens, you will never suffer with cataracts or the visual deterioration caused by cataracts.
